A dinner photo with my Princeton girlfriends in NYC--
This was the night before my appointment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering. This was just the positive boost that I needed before seeing a doctor that would give me the same poor diagnosis. I hadn't seen them in many months, and as soon as I saw them it felt like my energy and old self came back to life. We swapped stories, caught up on TV shows, and just enjoyed a night where we were all together in the same place. These girls (along with others who couldn't make it that night) are some of the most interesting and intelligent women I have ever met, and are some of the best friends I could ask for. It felt great to be back to my usual self and take my mind off the appointment the next day. I knew I might be getting my first set of CT scans since surgery, but with them there it felt like no matter the result everything would be ok.
