My cousin Brie, Myself, and Tori--this was taken on my grandma's 80th birthday in Tucson. This was a celebratory dinner for the 80 incredible years my grandma has lived and the many more to come. My sister Tori and I were so excited to see Brie. It was the first time in a while and as always it was like being reunited with our super cool 'older sister'.
My family is my lifeline. They have been the glue holding me together over the past few months and I am beyond grateful to have them. As cliche as it might sound...one thing this experience has taught me is that although there may be ups and downs, at the end of the day, family will be there when you need them most. I had Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Cousins flying, driving, and calling in to check on me. My mom told me how the waiting room outside the hospital hallway became KK's Room with family and friends always frequenting it. My Uncle would buy everyone dinner and they would take turns coming in my room to visit with me. It makes me smile to look back at the pictures of what were foggy memories in the hospital and see how much love was surrounding me.
